This week’s Top Ten Tuesday‘s topic is Book Series I’ve Been Meaning to Start But Haven’t. It came at a great time because last week I posted about series I’m currently reading. A few of these I’ve mentioned before.

Preacher, Volume 1: Gone to Texas (Preacher) by Garth Ennis
Maus I: A Survivor’s Tale (Maus) by Art Spiegleman
There are some series on here that I feel like I would really love, but like I said last week in my book series discussion post, I need to catch up/finish one or two of those before I start any other series. My library does have all of the Outlander books as audiobooks (what a score!), so I think I will get to that one soon.
*I realize that Cruel Beauty and Crimson Bound aren’t set in the same universe, but they seem to be companions in a way, so I’m putting it in this post anyway.

Outlander is on my list today, too. I’ve read the first book but it’s been so long that I would have to re-read it before I can move on with the series. I’ve only the books weren’t all so ENORMOUS 😦
I’d really recommend the Tana French books. They’re gruesome, but I love her. It’s also nice because you don’t have to read her books in order — the lead character changes from book to book, so there’s not a lot of continuing stories, if that makes sense.

Those books are so long! That’s one reason I haven’t started them just yet, but I really want to. I think I would enjoy them. I’m glad my library has them as audiobooks even though they’ll also be long.
Ooh, thank you for telling me that about Tana French’s books. I have the first one already, but I had read somewhere that there were different lead characters. That would be fun to read.

Awesome list! I need to add Stalking Jack the Ripper and Caraval to my list. I’ve wanted to read Outlander, but the books seem so long and I don’t know if I could do it with all of the other series I want to read 😦 I hope you enjoy these if you get to reading them!
Thank you! I’ve heard nothing but good things about those two. Outlander is so long and I’ve never read single books that long before, but I am going to try to read along with an audiobook. Otherwise I’m afraid I may get irritated at it taking me so long to read, especially with work. Thank you for the comment!
Stalking Jack the Ripper, Ruined, Caraval, Game of Thrones and Outlander are all on my list, too! Such is the life of a book dragon, alas. It never ends!! A lovely agony 🙂 The only book I’ve read on this list is Cruel Beauty, which I read like five years ago

I gave Caraval 1 star, unfortunately. It was… tough. 😦
I’m 5 books deep into the Outlander saga but that’s over the course of 3-ish years. I love it so much!
Aww, that’s too bad. This is the first time I’ve heard something bad about it, but every book isn’t for everyone.
I think that’s pretty good for 3 years considering the length of those books. 🙂
I’ve heard about 50/50 towards Caraval. But unfortunately, a lot of people that I trust have rated it 1-2 stars. I decided to read it to form my own opinion and yeah… nope.
Have you? I guess I’ve just seen praise for it on Instagram, but I realize that some people don’t post their negative reviews often.
Ah, I see. I do see a lot of praise for it on Instagram as well. But on booktube, not so much. On Goodreads, there are some awesome negative reviews for it – probably more amusing than the book itself.
But hey, don’t let that discourage you from reading Caraval. Who knows, you might like it. 🙂
That’s probably why I haven’t seen the negative reviews. I haven’t looked at anything about it on Booktube or Goodreads recently.
